Core Gallery
Founded by Rosalind Davis and Elizabeth Murton in 2009, Rosalind Davis curated and directed Core gallery 2009-11. Core Gallery, an artist led space, was founded through a determination and initiative to create a dynamic exploratory exhibition and education programme; providing exposure, advise, education and nurturing artists and curators whether emerging or established

Between 2009-11 Core Gallery supported and managed 17 exhibitions, 22 talks, 6 open studios and she worked with more than 200 artists and curators, including Delaine Le Bas, Rose Wylie, Debbie Lawson, Clare Mitten, Iain Andrews and Freddie Robins, Nick Kaplony. Graham Crowley, Michaela Nettell, Rich White, Edd Pearman, Andrew Bryant, Daniel Lichtman Chad Burt and many more.

Davis established the now renowned annual Core Gallery Open (to be known in the future as the Zeitgeist Open) and in 2011 Annabel Tilley and Davis launched DIY Educate’s Show&Tell Programme.
In November 2011 Davis left Core Gallery and set up a new artist led space:

"Working with Core Gallery is an energising and inspiring experience for me as a curator. It embodies many of the most positive aspects of artist led spaces, acting as a platform for risk taking, experimentation and diversity of practice with real commitment to and engagement with the development of the local arts ecology"
Nick Kaplony

Core Gallery is part of the Cor Blimey Arts charitable cooperative.
